We gladly accept individuals who have a deep and keen interest in meteorological science. Individuals interested
in joining should have a strong desire to help their community be better prepared for potentially dangerous and/or
life threatening weather, and an eagerness to learn about weather.
We gladly accept everyone from degreed meteorologists, to meteorology students, to professional and amateur storm
chasers, to weather hobbyists, to those who just like to keep an eye on the skies.

Please understand that all positions are voluntary, no one currently on our staff is compensated monetarily at this
time. However you do gain access to ForecastLab and all of its benefits free of charge as a member of our staff.
You also get an email account with us, and web/FTP space is available upon request to everyone on our staff.
If you would like to join our staff, you must first choose a type of position. There are four types of positions—The
duties of these positions are as listed below. Simply click one of the position listings to apply for that type of
position.
CSM/COC - Chief Staff Meteorologist or Chief Ops Coordinator is the head of an office. They are responsible for
overseeing their office. Meteorology degree or extensive training and/or education required.
Lead Forecaster - Assists the Forecaster In Charge with scheduling and training, manages the Forecasters in the
absence of the FIC, and forecasts on a set schedule. Some experience required.
Lead Nowcaster - Assists the Forecaster In Charge with scheduling and training, manages the Nowcasters in the absence
of the FIC, and coordinates the Nowcasters during times of adverse weather. Some experience required.
Forecaster - Produces the 5 day forecast on a set schedule. Experience preferred but training is available.
Nowcaster - Produces weather updates as coordinated and necessary during times of adverse weather. Experience preferred
but training is available.
Trainee - This is for anyone who has an interest in weather, but has no or very little forecasting
expierence.
